Most people dont realise how much Stonehenge is actually in the middle of nowhere. We run Stonehenge Tours and often get asked how far of a walk from the train station is it... we have to explain to them its no where near and its in the middle of the countryside. We have this conversation almost every day!

Hey - firstly - we are a Canadian middle-aged couple and second, it was only my wife who was watching America's Next Top Model - not me. Thirdly, one needs some familiarity from home from time to time - a diversion from the very similar annoying experiences we had.

Incidentally, in our blog - we also mentioned that we met very few travelers - save for some US expats...and a couple of New York brothers pecking like crazy on the cyber cafe keyboard - must be spies...

I remember going down to the 2007 Solstice and partying amongst the stones, being allowed to climb on them too - it was a memorable night. Work the next day was painful, as it is on so many 'mornings after'.
